Michael is a partner, with expertise in business litigation, construction litigation, surety law, corporate formation and maintenance, commercial development, and commercial real estate, insurance defense, agent defense.
Michael has been practicing law since 1986 and offers a broad range of experience and client development, working in commercial litigation for construction, business, shareholders and business valuation disputes, as well as representing bonding & surety companies. He has negotiated hundreds of leases and secured positive outcomes for his clients with construction and business litigation issues.
Prior to forming Ortiz & Schick in June 2006, Michael was a partner with a mid-sized Durham firm for 13 years.
